Job Title:  Design Assistant

Compensation: $50-65 an hour 

Key Job Responsibilities:

·       Assist the design team from conceptualization to finished product

·       Research and forecast fashion, materials and market trends

·       Sketch, CAD work, and creating specs and tech packs for the   manufacturing team overseas

·       Contribute to both the development and sampling of new collections

·       Aid in the production process and confirmation sample process

·       Order and track samples requested

·       Understand and focus on specific customer needs depending on the brand and product category needed

·       Create and manage seasonal brand line sheets

·       Organize CAD and sketch requests by account for follow ups

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related design experience

·       Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop - InDesign software a plus

·       Hand sketching ability and quick ideation capability

·       Ability to research market trend information

·       Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and discipline

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook

·       Must be motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced industry

·       Understand the variations of constructions and development methods

·       Keep cost to target price points on brand

·       Having a basic understanding of duty structure

·       Understand the fitting process in women’s shoes

·       Exposure to research & competitive shopping
