Since 1973, Vida Shoes International has been committed to becoming a global leader in the 
footwear industry. We are a well-established private footwear company located in New York, 
boasting a global presence abroad. Currently, we are in search of a Designer who is creative, 
passionate, and organized problem solver with the ability to work cross functionally between 
design and sales. This position will collaborate closely with Product Development, Sales Team, 
Production and Licensor’s Merchandising teams to build out seasonal collections that meet our 
customers’ business needs and our internal margin expectations. This is the perfect opportunity 
for a strong multi-tasker eager to bridge the design and development space including concept 
design and trend research to showroom merchandising and the commercialization process from 
sketch through final fit approval. We are looking for someone to bring a collaborative, 
enthusiastic, and growth-minded perspective to our team and find the white space Footwear 
Designer to steal market share. 

Job Title: Footwear Designer

Compensation: $120-170k

Requirements: 
• Trend shopping and research to help define seasonal concepts (Domestic and 
International) 
• Researching and forecasting fashion, leather/materials and market trends 
• Sketching, CAD/AI work, and creating sales specs and tech packs for the manufacturing 
team overseas. 
• Preparing sketch boards/trend boards for team proto review meetings. 
• Produce product that is representative of the brand's DNA and aesthetic, as well as 
pushing the envelope to find the “white space” and maximize opportunities for growth 
outside of our current core customer. 
• Daily communication with overseas offices. 
• Ability to deliver presentations with focused viewpoint and confidence to senior 
management, licensing team, sales team and retailers. 
• Travel to overseas factories when necessary. 
• Writing production specs and assisting in fit approvals for commercialization. 
• Manage and develop subordinate design team members. 
• Help support the Kenneth Cole Brands teams on design and pd overflow. I.E. fit 
comments, cfm sample approval, etc.  

Qualifications: 
• A college design degree preferred. 
• 7+ Years of footwear design experience. 
• Strong Hand sketching ability and organizational skills. 
• Technical ability and experience fit correcting shoes 
• Desire to learn new CAD systems such as AI technology. 
• A definitive fashion sense with a passion for trends and the ability to interpret trends for 
the masses to meet business needs. 
• Self-motivated and driven with a strong work ethic. 
• Effectively manages time and periods of high-volume workload; multi-tasker who has 
strong attention to detail and works well within a team environment. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Illustrator/Photoshop skills required. Ability to CAD color ups quickly after sales 
meetings. 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
